` Penn State Tailgate

1 Friday till Showtime

by Brent Laskowski

Here comes Peter Cotton Tail,
Telling me its time to bail.

Friday we’re closed so the rhyme must come today…

One last week and I cannot wait, Thinking about tailgating has me in a state.

I’ve hit all the high points in many emails past,

And I wish I could say that the “best’s for last.”

So here’s my attempt at one last Blue/White rhyme,
Before seeing you all in just one week’s time.

From all over PA we will travel to see,
The best tailgate in town is where we will be.

There’ll be people from Virginia and Maryland too,
Heading to Penn State “Our Famed White and Blue.”

There are even a few, who do not hail from Penn State,
But it’s of no matter to us, because we think they’re just great!

Waking at dawn to be first in line,
Anything less would just be a crime.

Setting the grills and canopies too,
Gazing at the stadium like its something brand new!

More people will arrive and the grilling will start,
Rolling in food, by cooler or cart.

The weather will be great and the sun will shine down,
Onto our parking lot, like a warm, golden crown.

And when it is over, we’ll pack up our canopy tent,
Knowing we’ve just had the best of time spent!

To all of you out there who are psychotic like me,
Only eight more days until together we’ll be!
